McKay received his first battle wound a few days ago. He was in the throws of a serious game of pretend Spiderman superheroes with his cousins. While fighting off the bad guys, someone swung the door closed to keep the bad guys out and McKay's face got caught between the door and the door jam.
It looked terrible when I first saw it--swollen, bleeding, and turning red and purple. I thought he might have to get some stitches but luckily the cut was not too deep. He does have his first shiner though.
His eye is looking much better now but you can still see the remnants of the wound. He's been very brave about it all. We hope he feels better soon.
